For over 150 years, families have chosen Sunset Hill Cemetery for its peaceful tranquility, responsible care, and convenient location. An elected Board of Trustees, comprised of twelve lot owners, meets on a regular basis to ensure its successful operation.

The Master Plan for Sunset Hill Cemetery was designed in 1856 by Architect John C. Hastings, who was well known for his work at Cornell University and Hamilton College. Additions and improvements have been in keeping with the original concept, which takes advantage of the rolling hills and majestic shade trees.

After the purchase of an adjoining parcel in 1967, Sunset Hill Cemetery grew to encompass 67 acres, providing a diverse selection of lots within the pastoral landscape, including Terrace of the Maples, for families who desire cremation interment.

In May of 2015, Sunset Hill Cemetery celebrated the opening of The Path, a meditative journey featuring a labyrinth, and honoring the full range of life’s experiences.

An Endowment Fund has been developed over the years as lot owners and friends remember the association with gifts and bequests. The Board of Trustees monitors the growth of the fund.
